RUNNERS are planning to climb each of the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales in 24 hours to raise money for a hospice.
Six members of Swanley and District Athletics Club hope to do the infamous Three Peaks Challenge - climb England’s Scafell Pike, Scotland’s Ben Nevis and Wales’ Snowdon - on July 10.
The members of the club, which is based in New Barn Road, are doing it to raise money for EllenorLions Hospice, which cares for teminally ill people across north Kent. A club spokesman said: “The challenge will be extremely difficult but it will be worth it to raise some money for such a wonderful local charity.”
