A baby was taken to hospital from the beach on one of the hottest days of the year
A FIVE-MONTH-OLD baby has been taken to hospital suffering from 20 per cent burns after spending the hottest day of the year on the beach, police have said.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said he was visiting the south coast resort from Plumstead with his 29-year-old mother.
Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) intervened after they saw the boy on Sunday afternoon as temperatures reached 25C.
An ambulance was called and the baby was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital for treatment.
A police spokeswoman said no arrests had been made.
