COLFE’S U15 rugby sevens squad recently visited Twickenham, where they spent the day being coached by England head coach Martin Johnson and other England RFU coaches.

The day was organised by the Old Colfeian Cobras’ U15 coach Kevin Osborn and the players enjoyed a game of touch rugby with former World Cup winner Johnson.

Colfe’s U15s have just completed a highly successful season, which started with the 15-a-side team reaching the last 16 of the national Daily Mail Vase competition.

In the previous round, Colfe’s thrashed Christ’s Hospital School from Hampshire 51-0.

Top try scorer over the season was Charlie Banks.

The Colfe’s side lost in the final of the Dartford sevens to Whitgift School in February.

However, the season culminated with a win against the same Whitgift team to secure first place in the prestigious London Oratory School sevens tournament in March.

This was no mean achievement as the tournament comprised 16 of the top rugby playing schools in London, including Eton College.
