AN exhibition celebrating 100 years of Guiding got off to a fun start as visitors were invited to sample some of the activities which make Guiding fun.
The free exhibition in the Halcot Gallery at Hall Place in Bourne Road, Bexley, runs until June 20 and shows the changes which have taken place in uniforms, badges and activities since Girlguiding UK was founded in 1910 when a group of girls turned up to the Boy Scouts’ first public meeting at Crystal Palace.
On the day the exhibition opened the Guides and Brownies invited children of all ages to Try Girlguiding Day in the Hall Place grounds, with games and activities such as the parachute game.
