GARDENERS at a sheltered housing scheme have received new equipment for their hobby thanks to a police officer.
Kent police’s Gravesend town centre beat officer PC Suzy McDonnell persuaded local companies to donate gardening tools to residents at St James’ Oaks in Trafalgar Road.
The equipment, which included a wheelbarrow and shed from the local B&Q DIY store, was presented to the elderly gardeners at a lunch at the sheltered housing last Thursday (May 20).
A Kent police spokeswoman said: “PC McDonnell was so impressed after a visit to St James’ Oaks she decided to enlist the help of local companies to give residents the tools they needed for the gardens of their dreams.”
