CLASSIC and modern cars will battle it out this weekend at a national motorsport event.

Motorsport at the Palace, featuring Ferraris, Maseratis, Lotuses and other famous names, is a two-day sprint event on Sunday and bank holiday Monday at Crystal Palace Park.

Spectators can also check out the exhibition area where there will be 180 rare and exotic vehicles on display, including a 2010 Williams Formula One car.

Competitors will each donate a minimum £10 in support of St. Christopher's Hospice and the Royal London Society for the Blind.

Tickets cost £10 per day for adults while admission is free for under 16s.
