A MINICAB passenger remains critically ill in hospital following a car crash on Saturday (May 22).
Firefighters had to cut the 29-year-old man out of a silver Toyota Avensis after the accident near the Beckenham Beacon hospital in Croydon Road, Beckenham, at around 1am.
He was then taken to Kings College Hospital, Denmark Hill.
The vehicle’s driver also needed to be cut out of the car and he was taken to Mayday Hospital, Croydon, with a suspected broken wrist and ankle.
The collision also involved a Volkswagen Caddy van.
Police arrested a 31-year-old man at his home in Catford shortly after the collision on suspicion of drink-driving, dangerous driving and failing to stop at an accident.
He has been bailed until August 4.
