SHORTLANDS councillor George Taylor will be wearing the chains this year after he was elected as Bromley’s mayor.
As one of his first duties he appointed Councillor Ruth Bennett of Bromley Common & Keston ward as deputy mayor.
He has chosen the Prince’s Trust as his mayoral charity for the year.
Councillor Taylor said: “I’m proud and humbled to be appointed mayor and to represent the London borough of Bromley.
“I look forward to meeting as many people as possible over the coming year – highlighting the important work of the third sector in our community, as well as private sector endeavours.
“Combined with the efforts of the council and our public sector partners, we have much to be proud of.”
