SHOEBOXES filled with gifts are being sought for people affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
Biggin Hill and Westerham Lions Club is asking for people to donate items such as shampoo, soap, gloves, hats and underwear.
Donations of larger items including bicycles, toys and clothing will also be accepted.
The gifts will be sent to families in Gomel, Belarus.
Gomel was severely affected by the Chernobyl disaster in 1986 after a massive dose of radiation was deposited on the area.
This left many families suffering health problems such as leukaemia, thyroid and bone cancers.
Shoeboxes can be dropped off until July 1 at TMC Gas Power, Main Road, Biggin Hill, between 9am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
