CELEBRITY gardeners are calling on schools in the borough to take part in a London-wide competition to encourage youngsters to grow their own food.
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Chris Collins and Sarah Raven will be giving tips and advice to pupils at the winning school in a competition called Capital Growth.
Five schools in the borough have already signed up to take part including Royston Primary School in Penge and Hawes Down Infant School and St David’s College in West Wickham.
The Ravensbourne School in Bromley and Clare House Primary School in Beckenham have also entered the competition, which closes on June 18.
