POLICE are appealing for information after an 18-year-old man was stabbed with a broken bottle after a night out.
It happened on Saturday (May 16) at around 12.35am outside the Marquis of Granby pub, shortly after the victim left the Venue nightclub on New Cross Road, New Cross.
Police say he had been involved in an argument with a man in his early 20s inside the club five minutes before.
It is claimed the man then followed the teenager towards Lewisham Way and used a broken bottle to stab him in the upper back before fleeing the scene.
Police were alerted at 12.40am and the victim was taken to hospital. He was released shortly afterwards.
The suspect is described as a white man aged 20 to 25. He is about 5ft 6ins in height with short brown hair.
He was wearing blue jeans and a white shirt at the time of the attack.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Lisa Lathbury said: “This is a very serious crime and we are appealing for any witnesses who saw anything suspicious or the incident itself to contact us with information.”
