A PRIVATELY owned Dutch walled garden will be open to the public this weekend.
The Grade II listed 18th century garden is only open to the public once a year.
Designed by Thomas Mawson, the most prolific garden designer of his era was commissioned by Lord Waring, the owner of Foots Cray Place, to create the garden.
The grand house was burnt down in 1949 but the garden was restored in 2004 together with the stable block.
It will open on Saturday from 10am until 5pm and on Sunday (22nd and 23rd) from 10am until 4pm.
The buildings will not be open to the public and no dogs are allowed.
The entrance is through the garden gate next to the car park in Rectory Lane, Foots Cray, where there is limited parking.
