A FOOTBALL team which re-formed following the tragic death of one of its founders is to play a charity match.
The Eltham Royals will play the Spurs Legends team on July 25 at Thamesmead Town Football Club in Bayliss Avenue, Thamesmead.
The Legends include Micky Hazard, Steve Perryman, Tony Galvin, Mark Falco, Graham Roberts, Paul Allen, Clive Wilson, Gary Stevens, Steve Sedgley, Andy Sinton and Garry Brooke.
They plan to use the event to raise money for hospice charity Demelza, which provides care for terminally-ill children.
From noon, there will be pre-match entertainment, refreshments, raffle and A Question of Sport-style quiz.
Team members came out of retirement and chose Demelza in memory of co-founder and former player Darrell Bing who died in 2007, aged just 37, from a rare wasting disease.
Their last match raised £12,000 for the charity and was watched by 600 sepctators.
Tickets are £5 for adults and teens, £2.50 for senior citizens and free for under-10s and the disabled.
