A 49-YEAR-OLD who hid heroin up his bottom has been given a five year jail term.
Kent police officers found 58 wraps of heroin inside 49-year-old Denis Smith when he was taken to north Kent police station for a search on December 20 last year.
This followed officers seeing Smith, of All Saints Road in Gravesend, inserting the heroin into his body shortly after a drug deal had taken place.
Smith was sentenced to five years in prison at Maidstone Crown Court last Tuesday (May 11) after being convicted of four charges in relation to the incident.
He was found guilty of possession of heroin with intent to supply, supply of heroin, possession of heroin and obstructing a constable during a drugs search.
