The death of 21-month-old Bobby Louch has also been the subject of a safeguarding board investigation.
Following the conviction of his mother Colette Harris today (May 14) for the murder of 21-month old Bobby, Bexley's Local Safeguarding Children Board issued the following statement this evening:
"This is a tragic case and we deeply regret the death of a young child.
"We offer our condolences to Bobby’s family at this very difficult time.
"This child’s death has been subject to a serious case review.
"It is vital all public services which interacted with Bobby’s family can see whether anything could have been done to prevent this tragedy, and what lessons may be learned to safeguard children and young people in the future.
"If we are to fully understand what went wrong, we need to draw upon the information shared at the trial.
"We intend to consider that, update the executive summary if appropriate, and then share the executive summary with the family before we publish our findings.
We are unable to make any further comment until the executive summary of the serious case review is published."
The board said it hoped to publish the executive summary early next week.
