STEAM engines rolled into town to remember the contribution of a famous inventor.
Richard Trevithick, who in 1832 lived at what is now the Royal Victoria and Bull Hotel in Dartford High Street, built the first railway locomotive and helped pave the way for the Industrial Revolution.
The annual Trevithick’s Industrial Dartford event was held to remember the halcyon days of the steam age and included a display of steam engines, vintage vehicles and motorbikes in Dartford’s Central Park.
Engines moved out of the park and travelled to Trevithick’s burial place in St Edmund’s Pleasance in East Hill.
Organiser Colin Wheeler said: “We think Dartford enjoys being reminded of its industrial past.
“There’s a lot of industrial history which current residents don’t think about.”
