TWO motorcycle 'ringers' have been jailed for handling thousands of pounds worth of stolen parts and selling them on the internet.
Seamus McGlynn, aged 26, of Miles Drive, Thamesmead, and 33-year-old Paul James, of Lincoln Close, Erith, appeared at Southwark Crown Court charged with handling stolen motorcycles and parts.
Both men pleaded guilty and were each sentenced to two years and eight months in prison.
Ringing is the term used when a vehicle identification number is altered or erased so the identity of the bike is changed.
James and McGlynn were arrested in September 2008 at an industrial estate in Essex.
They were caught ringing a Suzuki GSX1300 motorcycle to disguise the fact it was stolen.
Ringing equipment and £265,000 worth of stolen motorbikes and motorcycle parts were also found.
