A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has appeared in court today (May 13) accused of murdering a teenager in a Sydenham park.
Nick Pearton, aged 16, was pronounced dead in hospital on May 5 after being stabbed in Home Park recreation ground, off Winchfield Road and Sydenham Road.
Police arrested six youths aged between 14 and 17 from Sydenham, Bromley and Deptford and a 21-year-old man from Forest Hill in connection with the murder.
One of the youths, a 16-year-old boy from Downham, has been charged with murder.
He appeared in custody at Camberwell Green Youth Court today.
He has been remanded in custody and will next appear at the court on Thursday (May 20).
The other people arrested have been bailed to return to a south London police station next month pending further inquiries.
