CHILDREN in the reception class at a Welling primary school found out how all the bread and tempting cakes appear in the window of their community baker’s shop every day.
The youngsters from St Michael’s CofE Primary School in Wrotham Road, paid a visit to bakers Cheverst’s which is just down the road from the school.
They were taken behind the scenes by baker Keith Cheverst to find out how the bread and cakes are made and how early the staff have to start baking to make sure everything is ready for customers when the shop opens.
Mr Cheverst also gave each of the children a muffin to enjoy at break-time.
