THE Mayor of London has thrown his weight behind a campaign to tidy up the capital.
Boris Johnson is backing the annual Capital Clean-Up campaign which aims to tackle litter, graffiti, fly-tipping and dog fouling.
More than 200 separate events are planned as part of the six week operation, including education projects in school and a clamp down by the police.
Mr Johnson said: “I cannot heap enough praise on this excellent campaign to blitz London's grimiest parts.
“Well done to all those people giving up their time to volunteer as part of Capital Clean-Up helping to make our city litter-free and generally a far more pleasant place.”
