A VOLUNTEER for a charity for deaf people is taking part in a 10k run to raise money for the cause.
Alison Pimm is running in the Bluewater Sweatshop 10k around the shopping centre on June 13 to raise money for Hi Kent, which supports deaf people across north Kent.
The 43-year-old is deaf herself and volunteers at the charity, which regularly holds free hearing aid aftercare clinics across the area and won the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2007.
Hi Kent’s Debra Jones praised Miss Pimm, saying: “She has raised money for many deserving charities in the past and we’re delighted she is able to help Hi Kent on this occasion.”
