POLICE in Bexley Village have been reinforcing its alcohol control zone, seizing booze from more than 40 people in recent weeks.
The St Mary’s ward Safer Neighbourhoods team always contacts parents when alcohol is taken from under-age drinkers and takes action against the shop which sold it.
Team members visit all licensed premises in the ward every week and attend Pub Safe meetings, to keep an eye on potential troublemakers.
Information from the meetings has lead to arrests for assault, possession of drugs, drink drive and public order offences.
The team’s work is designed to clamp down on alcohol-related anti-social behaviour in the area.
