A SCHOOL is marking its 130th anniversary by throwing open its doors to visitors and community groups.
Blackheath High School will show people around its junior department on May 23 from 2pm to 4pm.
People can explore the building, in Wemyss Road, Blackheath Village, which houses a large hall with a porcelain staircase.
This is the original part of the school that was opened by Queen Victoria's daughter Princess Louise in 1880. Guests will be able to meet representatives from groups including the Blackheath Society, Women’s Institute, Greenwich Historical Society, Friends of Greenwich Park, and Lewisham Historical Society.
Historical talks will also be given and pupils will provide live music.
