AS the 70th anniversary of the evacuation of Allied troops from Dunkirk to Britain approaches, News Shopper wants to hear from those involved in the famous operation.
Civilians in their own boats joined Royal Navy ships to rescue around 330,000 soldiers from the beaches of northern France between May 26 and June 4, 1940, as the German enemy closed in.
News Shopper wants to hear the tales of local people involved in the dramatic rescue mission, which was codenamed Operation Dynamo.
Editor Richard Firth said: “People from across the area will have played a part in the evacuation, and we want to know their story to celebrate the 70th anniversary.”
