FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze last night (May 6) at a house in Catford.
Crews from Downham and Beckenham attended the property in Lushington Road, Catford, at around 9pm.
The fire started in an upstairs bedroom while the family was downstairs.
Firefighters confined the fire to the upstairs room and evacuated the parents and their three children.
The bedroom was badly burnt with smoke damage through the rest of the upstairs.
A spokesman said a working fire alarm alerted the family to the fire which meant there was a quick response from the fire crew.
