POLICE are appealing for information after three homes were targeted by arsonists.
At around 12.15am and 9.10am on Sunday (May 2) a home in Primrose Walk, New Cross, was attacked by the arsonists.
Officers were called to a home in Balborough Street, New Cross, at around 2.30am on Monday (May 3).
And on Tuesday (May 4) police attended a home in Nettleton Road, Deptford, at around 4pm.
The method used to cause the fires was similar in each case.
Petrol was put through the letterboxes and over the front doors or window before setting the area alight.
The suspects were wearing dark clothing and may have had their faces covered by hoods.
Officers stopped a vehicle in Eastdown Park, Lewisham, at 11.47pm on Wednesday (May 5) and arrested six men aged 18 to 27 in relation to the enquiry.
They have been taken to a south London police station.
Detective Inspector Steve Heatley said: “Although in each of these cases no one was injured and damage was minimal, we are extremely concerned about these recent arsons which were intended to put people in real danger.
“The motive is unclear at this stage and we are keeping an open mind to this investigation. We want to find whoever has done this urgently, so we are appealing to anyone who knows anything to please contact us.”
Anyone with information should call 0300 123 1212 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
