VOTER turnout in Bromley borough is reported to be amongst the highest in the country.
Of the 230,019 residents eligible to vote in the General Election, 97.38 per cent are registered and they have been voting in their droves.
In the Orpington constituency the turnout was 72.2 per cent.
It is slightly higher in the Conservative stronghold of Beckenham at 72.3 per cent but less in Bromley and Chislehurst where it was 67.5 per cent.
The turnout in Bromley and Chislehurst was slightly higher than in the last election in 2005 where 64.9 per cent of the electorate cast their vote.
Bob Neill was elected the MP for the constituency in a by-election in June 2006 following the death of Eric Forth.

Mr Neill is waiting to see whether the constituents have chosen to keep him in a job.
