THE Tories are expected to hold on to Old Bexley and Sidcup, where James Brokenshire, former MP for Hornchurch in Essex, hopes to replace Derek Conway.
In Bexleyheath Crayford, sitting Tory MP David Evennett is also expected to keep his seat.
However in Erith and Thamesmead, formerly held by Labour's John Austin with a majority of more than 11,000, both Labour candidate Teresa Pearce and Tory Colin Bloom say they have no idea how the night will end.
Ms Pearce, a former Bexley councillor, said: "I am hoping we will hold on to the seat.
"There has been a very high turnout, which is good because we have been urging people in the north of the borough to get out and vote.
"But I don't know what effect the high turnout will have."
Tory candidate Mr Bloom said: "I have no idea what will happen. There are lots of wild swings across the country."
