LABOUR candidate Kathryn Smith drove herself into the limelight after being arrested on suspicion of drink-driving last week, but she says she has enjoyed the campaign.
The 50-year-old started the campaign as one of the less controversial candidates, with porn director Liberal Democrat Anna Arrowsmith getting most column inches.
Although Ms Smith would not comment on the driving incident, she told News Shopper she has enjoyed vying for votes.
Speaking as the votes were being counted, she said: “I've really enjoyed going out and meeting people and listening to what they want for the borough.”
