HUNDREDS of families descended on a park to celebrate at an annual May Day festival.
Rock carving, t-shirt painting, a climbing wall and balloon modelling were just some of the attractions at Forster Park, Bellingham.
Around 3,500 people from Downham, Whitefoot and Bellingham attended the event, which was organised by Phoenix Community Housing Association for the third year.
Resident and chair of the association, Pat Fordham, said: “The festival just gets better every year, and that’s our vision for Phoenix too. ”
People also enjoyed performances from the Wild Hunt Bedlam morris dancers and party performers, Cosmic Sausages.
The event, which cost £30,000 to run, also included face painting, archery, wacky bug races and Maypole dancing.
