TENANTS of a house in Erith had been told of plans for the installation of a mobile phone mast on the roof of their homes.

People living in the former manor house at the top of Park Crescent, Erith, have received letters from Hutchison 3G telling them about its plan.

The firm intends to apply for planning permission to put three antenna and two dishes on the roof.

Hutchison will install a replacement for the top half of the former spire, made from plastic and fibre glass, in which it will hide the associated base station equipment.

The house is currently divided into eight bedsits.
