YOUTH CENTRE:
Lewisham Children and Young People's Centre has launched a free monthly newsletter to keep the borough up-to-date with the development of the centre which is due to open by autumn this year. SELF-MANAGE HEALTH:
Greenwich teaching PCT is running an Expert Patients Programme, offering free self-management courses for adults and parents of children, who face the challenge of living with a long-term health condition or disability. CARING MATRONS:
Community Matrons oversee and co-ordinate the treatment of the chronically sick. The concept has been pioneered by Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley PCT, during the past three years and now the idea has been adopted nationwide to provide more effective care for patients who suffer from diseases such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease or diabetes.
