WITH milder weather finally here and Easter school holidays looming, more people are likely to be out and about on bicycles.
Each year, Bexley police recover large numbers of lost and stolen bikes whose owners they are unable to trace.
Now the policing team for Christchurch ward in Bexleyheath have teamed up with Wheelies cycle shop in Northumberland Heath, to security mark people's bikes for free.
They will be in the Mall in Bexleyheath Broadway from April 11 to April 13 between 10am and 4pm to mark bikes, give advice on crime prevention and bike maintenance and security and safety equipment.
Anyone aged under 17 who is without a parent or guardian when they bring their bike for marking will need a signed consent form.
These are available from Leslee Williams at Bexleyheath police station by emailing leslee.williams@met.pnn.police.uk or by calling 020 8284 9154 from 9am to 5pm.
