A SHOP manager is swapping the comforts of his centrally-heated store for the chilly heights of Mount Everest.
Bexleyheath Woolworth's manager Peter Ticehurst and his colleague Don Ammon are flying out to Kathmandu on April 21 to start the biggest challenge of their lives - climbing the world's highest mountain.
The climb is just one the the challenges Mr Ticehurst is undertaking to raise money for the disabled children's charity Kids First/ Whizz Kidz.
On April Fool's Day he will be sitting in a bath in Bexleyheath's Mall, sponsored by B&Q and inviting people to buy a tin of baked beans and pour them in.
The Mall is also backing Mr Ticehurst's efforts by sponsoring his clothes for the Everest climb and has given £500 towards his fundraising.
