Anne Martin, a Parkinsons disease nurse specialist, has been nominated as one of Bromley's best nurses.
Miss Martin, who has been nursing for 29 years, joined the Princess Royal University Hospital, in Farnborough four years ago.
The mother-of-two was nominated by Clare Polling, of Madeira Avenue, Bromley.
Ms Polling said: "My father has Parkinsons and he was given 28 days to leave his care home because of misdiagnosis and incorrect medication.
"Anne quickly arranged for reassessment and a new care home. If we have any problems she's on the end of the phone and deals with it quickly."
Miss Martin said: "I'm amazed, it was very kind of Clare to nominate me.
"I work with patients from diagnoses to death so there is a huge emotional side to the job.
"I love what I do but it can take its toll and get hard going, but I wouldn't change it."
Ms Polling added: "Anne is immensely knowledgable, and fantastically efficient."
