MP JOHN Horam listened to concerns about changes to incapacity benefits when he visited a mental health centre.
He made the visit after Work and Pensions Minister Alan Johnson announced the Government will publish plans this summer to replace incapacity benefit with a scheme to get people back to work.
Members of Bromley Mind, Station Road, Orpington, were worried benefits could be reduced as a punishment if illness meant they could not turn up to assessment interviews.
The group also talked to the Orpington MP about how they felt employers should be more open to people with mental health problems returning to work so the employees get the support they need.
