PLANNING bosses are poised to land a knockout blow on a former boxing club.
Greenwich Council's planning board looks set to approve the demolition of the Thamesmead Amateur Boxing Club building in Poplar Place, Thamesmead.
If the bulldozers are allowed to move in, the club will make way for 62 one, two and three-bedroom flats.
The club was forced to move out of its home in May last year, after the site was bought by Gallions Housing Association.
Planners have recommended councillors agree to allow the proposed development which would create more social housing for poorer residents.
The planning board will make a decision when it meets at 6.30pm tomorrow at Woolwich Town Hall.
