A TRAILER truck which was converted into a 36-seat cinema has been given a makeover by a group of students.
Ten pupils from Sedgehill School, Sedgehill Road, Lewisham, spent last week painting the outside of StagesTruck in preparation for future outings in Lewisham.
Greenwich and Lewisham Young People's Theatre (GLYPT) bought the second-hand trailer with support from Lewisham Council to meet the demand for more performance venues in the borough.
StagesTruck is used as a theatre, cinema and exhibition space and is a way of taking art to the community.
One of StageTruck's outings last year was at Lewisham People's Day in Mountfield Park, Catford, where it was used as a storytelling venue.
GLYPT arts development worker Emma Hewitt said: "We're really pleased. The design gives StagesTruck a real identity."
