CHILDREN from three primary schools battled it out in a competition designed to boost fitness and teamwork.
The 64 youngsters from Crockenhill, St Mary's and Whiteoak Primary schools gathered at Swanley Technology College (STC), St Mary's Road, Swanley, for the first sporting event of the Dartford Schools' Partnership.
For three hours, the six-year-olds split into teams to play bench ball, where goals are scored by passing balls to team members on a bench.
STC headteacher Julie Bramley presented the winning team from St Mary's with gold medals and the runners-up with certificates.
Sports co-ordinator for the partnership Sue Deacon said: "It was an excellent day, they were given the chance to exercise and represent their school.
"We have many more ideas lined up, including a golf tournament."
