WORK to turn Thames Road, Crayford, into a dual carriageway is to move onto the section of road by the railway bridge.
From April 3, the Erith-bound carriageway will be closed at the bridge for about two weeks.
This will allow energy company EDF Energy to divert and upgrade the high-voltage electricity cables which will run underneath the road under the south arch of the bridge.
Traffic will be restricted to a single alternate lane controlled by temporary traffic lights and delays are expected.
There could also be delays to the 428 bus service to Bluewater.
Bexley Council's nearby re-use and recycling centre in Thames road will remain open during the work.
The £23m project is expected to be completed next summer.
