What an absolute waste of money the memorial fountain to Princess Diana is.
It is criminal public money should be wasted in this way.
It costs an estimated £700 a day to maintain. Am I the only one who thinks this is a disgrace?
The fact it cost a whopping £5m to construct is unbelievable enough but to then throw nearly £5,000 a week at it to keep it open is absurd. (And are we not facing a water shortage?) I cannot believe Diana would condone this frippery.
The fountain should be closed, a plaque put up to commemorate Diana and the £700 daily cost put towards research into something useful such as curing Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease.
