FOR a generation of baby boomers, the 1960s was the "tune in, turn on, drop out" era.
Bexleyheath Central Library, Townley Road, is celebrating the flower power decade with The Sixties, its latest promotion.
The 1960s saw the rise of pop groups such as The Beatles and Rolling Stones, fashion icons Mary Quant and Twiggy and actors such as Michael Caine and Julie Christie.
It was the decade of the miniskirt, the contraceptive pill and satirical comment such as the BBC programme That Was The Week That Was.
A host of books are now available at the library to try to capture the excitement and exuberance of the era.
People are invited to relive their youth or come along and find out what all the fuss was about.
