TWO Scout groups worked together to clean a river and raise money for charity.
More than 30 youngsters from the 1st Penge Scout Group and the 10th Penge Scout Group collected rubbish from the Pool River in Sydenham on Saturday, to support environmental group the WWF, which works to address global threats such as climate change.
The river work raised £500 which will help Scouts from other countries attend the 21st World Scout Jamboree in Essex next year.
The event will be hosted by the Scout Association from July 27 to August 8 and will bring together 40,000 Scouts and leaders for 12 days.
Group leader Ian Holder said: "Everybody benefits by removing the rubbish, wildlife and the community."
