A HAVE-A-GO hero has applauded the council for taking action against yobs.
David Chillman, 40, welcomes Bromley Council's plan to spend £10,000 on low-level fencing to stop anti-social behaviour in Elmstead Woods. It is believed the fencing will stop yobs riding motorcycles through the woods.
Carpenter Mr Chillman, of Castlecombe Road, Mottingham, made a citizen's arrest on January 22 when yobs were riding mopeds in the woods. He said: "It's an excellent idea. The residents have suffered long enough, it has got to improve it." Seventeen hundred metres of the Elmstead Woods boundary in Castlecombe Road, Mottingham, will be fenced off with a number of entrances for walkers.
