MY CAR was issued with a penalty notice while parked in Elmfield Road, Bromley, on January 6.

The reason given was "Parked without clearly displaying a valid pay and display ticket or voucher", at the same location as Mr Cater.

The ticket was clearly visible and a photo of where it was displayed was taken. I sent a letter appealing against this notice along with the photo.

When I rang the parking department to ask what was happening I was told there was a two-month backlog, so I would have to wait.

I suspect the outcome of my appeal may be the same as his and I could end up risking a much higher financial penalty.

Is it coincidence the location and reason are the same? And why is there such a backlog dealing with cases?

I would be interested to know how many readers have been penalised in the same way.
