SERVICES for people with learning disabilities have had a boost thanks to the Big Lottery Fund.
Bromley Mencap, a charity helping people with learning disabilities, has been awarded £118,458 from the lottery charity, to be given over three years.
More than 2,000 people use the charity's services, which include help finding a job, support for carers and keep-fit classes.
The grant will pay for a telephone helpline as well as a dedicated staff member.
Bromley Mencap chief executive Eddie Lynch said "We are delighted. The grant will ensure we are able to continue providing much-needed independent support and advocacy for families.
"Most importantly it will enable us to extend the support we provide to new, hard-to-reach groups.
"We will involve volunteers in the project and provide a range of integrated and inclusive social activities for children and young people."
