PRE-SCHOOL children are opening up boxes of toys to learn through play.
Children at the Community Vision Nursery, Chestnut Grove, Penge, play with the toys to help develop their communication skills.
Each toy has been designed to strengthen attention, listening, turn-taking, choosing and talking skills.
Speech and language therapist Laura Stevenson said: "It has been a really good thing to do because we have been able to take a box into every pre-school in Penge and Anerley.
"The toys are very helpful for language development skills."
Government agency Sure Start has given a box of toys to 15 pre-schools in Penge at a cost of £100 per box.
