THOUSANDS of commuters will continue to benefit from a ferry service from Woolwich Arsenal to Canary Wharf thanks to a multi-agency partnership.
The pilot scheme, which was funded by Thames Clippers and Berkeley Homes, was due to end on January 27.
But through the support of Greenwich Council and the London Development Agency, the service will now continue until a long-term solution is reached with Transport for London.
The service will be still offering seven trips at peak times from Monday to Friday from the Royal Arsenal Pier in Woolwich to Canary Wharf and Central London.
Council deputy leader Councillor Peter Brooks said: "I'm delighted commuters and residents will continue to benefit from the ferry services into London.
"New transport links play a crucial role encouraging more businesses to choose Woolwich as their base and provides even more options for those who require alternatives to the car."
