RUBBISH collectors are in talks with their bosses to try and avoid strike action.
Members of the Transport and General Workers Union (T&G) are upset about the pay offer from employers Onyx and hope to hammer out a better deal.
A strike was planned for tomorrow but this has been suspended until the union has heard Onyx's new offer.
T&G regional industrial organiser Paul Faucett said: "We understand from the company they wish to table a new deal.
"Our union will always take industrial action only as a last resort."
Bromley Council advises residents to put rubbish and recycling out for collection in the normal way.
Any problems can be reported to the council on 020 8464 3333.
