ANDREW Jordan was born and grew up in Bexley.
He attended St Augustine's Primary School, and later Picardy School (now Trinity School) both in Belvedere. He married Savitri in 1996 and in 1999 his daughter Louise was born.
His younger brother Philip told News Shopper: "He was a good man. He thought the world of Louise and my son Alfie."
He added: "I think Louise misses her father more than anything. His heart was as big as the rest of him.
"When he wasn't ill, he was funny and always happy. He was very caring. He wanted to be the kind of father and uncle the children could go to if they ever needed to talk."
His sister Amanda said when she first moved into her own home in Belvedere, Andrew was always dropping in.
She said: "He used to visit me nearly every day. He livened the place up."
His widow Savitri described her husband as very much a family man. She said: "He was caring and protective. When he was well, he spent five days a week working and spent the weekends at home and with his old school friends." Mr Jordan's best friend Harvey Dhesi was in court for the verdict.
Andrew was at the birth of his daughter.
Mrs Jordan recalled: "He was thrilled when Louise was born. He was so excited, he had a nosebleed. He would do anything for Louise.
"He did not deserve to die the way he did. Because he was a big man, everyone judged him on face value. The family has not been the same since Andrew and his mother died."
His father David said family had been torn apart by Andrew's death and then the suicide, through grief, of his mother. He said: "She idolised Andrew and he loved her to bits."
